The Isle Wiki

I don't have the game but I love dinosaurs so much and this game is just awesome. Its a survival game with dinosaurs(humans will be added), you grow, eat, hunt, graze, make friends, hatch eggs, and a little more, the Fauna of the game is just OP, don't care but this is the best unofficial dinosaur game ever(YOU GET). Some isle players complain about balancing and according to what I read on this wiki and how I see people play, I'm must opinionating on how I think dinosaurs should be played, although the game is for fun but its a survival game and you still need skill and some understanding to STAY ALIVE. NOTE:This is for hardcore survival unless your playing for fun

Carnivores[]

Carnivores are just one of the best to play as, people love rocking the T-rex, hunting in packs with the Utahraptor, its just so awesome to play for fun but a carnivores general play-style should be sneak and hunt not roar from a mile away, chase, regain stamina, keep trying to hunt, and pray for success. You need patience, even in the wild carnivores aren't always successful even with the right tactics. BUT ABOVE ALL KNOW YOUR CARNIVORES PREFERRED PREY AND NOT ANY HERBIVORE THAT IS BEST SUITED TO OUTDO YOU. E.g Allosaurus can't go hunting Triceratops for obvious reasons it might be slow but it is too big for it to take down and will seriously injure it, a Trex is best to hunt it and it is as rewarding considering it fills more hunger than some other small dinos Trex might easily kill.

  • Allosaurus: Not basically the fastest or strongest carnivore but thats what makes it more challenging and rewarding. Like all other carnivore players are meant to use its fast ambush speed to surprise and get in to attack considering its damage output is enough to take down most medium herbivores, but it needs to get closer than say Carnotaurus or Utahraptor which can quickly cover a wider distance in a short time, although blending with its dull and shady like skin should make it easier than even Carnotaurus when approaching its PREFERRED PREY.
    • ALLOSAURUS IS AMONG THE BEST IN ITS TIER AND LIFE SHOULDN'T BE TOO HARD FOR IT.
  • Ceratosaurus: People might hate it thinking its a downgrade of Allo but its one of personal favorites. It might be fast but its greenish skin can help it sneak on potential prey its agility help nab prey easier though ambush isn't that long but it has fast stam regen, its kinda a trial and error kinda thing. It prey are preferably medium sized herbivores such as Pachycephalosaurus or Gallimimus its agility make it difficult for prey to shake of and its damage though low on health and health regen itself, is sufficient to kill.
    • CERATOSAURUS IS BASED ON TRIAL AND ERROR, DECENT SPEED, STAMINA, AGILITY AND DAMAGE, LOW HEALTH AND SOMEWHAT EASY TO DEFEND FROM, UNLESS NECESSARY PREY SHOULDN'T BE WHAT CAN FIGHT BACK.
  • Carnotaurus: Fastest carnivore and dinosaur in whole and actually balanced for hunting. Players think their the fastest and can catch anything, well WRONG. First of turn radius is clunky and can't make sharp turns on high sprint meaning it is best suited for fast and quick take down and not downright a whole chase. Stamina isn't best especially recovering but can deal decent bleed damage. So players need to at least conceal their presence a good distance, chase, attack quickly, racking up bleed damage and not give agile prey a chance to escape, this way hunting will be made easier.
    • IT CAN HUNT AGILE AND FAST PREY IF DONE WELL ALTHOUGH THEY CAN ESCAPE IF GIVEN THE CHANCE AND ISN'T AS STRONG AS SAY ALLOSAURUS TO EASILY TAKE ON MEDIUM HERBIVORES.
  • Tyrannosaurus Rex: The King of Lizards, the mighty T-rex everyone loves to abuse. Trex isn't adapt for long distance runs but is extremely fast(BALANCED). You need to get in real close to your prey and even then they might not miss 30,000lb of pure mass, lucky if you were crouching chances with both ambush speed and approach are high, and Trex deals massive damage so taking prey down is a piece of steak(PUN), overall some of its prey are more of combat(TRIKE), and some agility(PARA).
    • OVERALL PLAY LIKE THE REST BUT BE SURE NOT TO ROAR CONSTANTLY OR OTHER DINOS WILL KNOW YOUR AROUND AND MIGHT FIND IT EASIER TO AVOID YOU, STAMINA REGEN IS VERY POOR SO PUT ALL EFFORT INTO A CHASE, KILLING IS NO PROBLEM FOR YOU.

Herbivores[]

Herbivores are more on the peaceful but a little worry side of life. Eat plants but watch out for predators, and you may wonder BALANCING isn't making you fast enough to escape some but actually you only really need some important factors to live. First of location; where you are do you think carnivores are more likely to prefer this place keeping in mind hey are actual players. Secondly Attetiveness; you need to be alert to even the slightest call whether its a carnivore or fellow herbivores and to your surroundings is that a bush or an approaching Utahraptor. Third groups; are you in a a herd if not make some friends, being in a herd is its own reward although considering numbers you maybe easier to spot. Also you need to know what your dinosaurs is good at and how best it can escape certain predators be it fast or powerful.

  • Dryosaurus: A relative of Gallimimus, its is almost the same thing except is loaded with stamina, which can give careless carnivores a hard time catching. Considering carnivores are more of speed and less of stamina even the fastest ones know that. Its not that fast so it still needs to be alert although it can easily blend and hide given its small frame and color to camouflage in the greens so carnivores don't get the drop on it and easily kill it since it is a bit weak, but its agility can help it squeeze of tight situations.
    • LIKE ALMOST ALL HERBIVORES A HERD IS PREFERRABLE ALTHOUGH SPOTTING PREDATORS CAN BE HARD GIVEN ITS SMALL AND NOT HIGH ENOUGH SIGHT TO DO SO IT CAN STILL SCOUT AHEAD TO CLEAR OF DANGER
  • Gallimimus: Hands down one of the best for surviving and one of favorite herbivores. This is speed and agility in one body, it doesn't need power for anything unless you like being the player that loves to kill others no matter what dino you are. It is best in herds although it can live solo, its speed can best counter almost any carnivore even Carnotaurus especially careless ones that start running from a whole stadium away. Living with other herbivores especially large and medium is good, as helping to alert them can be very good.
    • OVERALL A HERD ENSURES MORE SURVIVAL RATE AND MORE PLAYERS MEANS PREDATORS ARE EASIER TO SPOT.
  • Parasaurolophus: Another one of my favorites, it is somewhat challenging for predators to catch especially if spotted early. Para's in a herd with other dinos like Trike can make excellent scouts due to their height and line of sight, alerting nearby herbivores of danger. A Solo Para can have a decent chance of survival if played well as it can pose a threat to small-medium carnivores and can outrun most other apex predators.
    • PARAs ARE USUALLY PREFERRED PREY FOR APEX PREDATORS SO VIGILANCY IS REQUIRED SO AS NOT TO BE TAKEN BY SURPRISED. PRETTY BALANCED
  • Triceratops: A tank on its one capable of killing a full grown rex, most dinosaurs will think twice before trying to mess with them, it is very slow and usually forced to fight predators, which can be disadvantage if it is surprised and doesn't react fast enough, or a single predator keeps on trying to attack it. Staying in a herd is preferred as well as herding with other herbivores which can provide scout and warning to be prepared for an ambush.
    • TRICERATOPS WHEN PLAYED WELL CAN BE A GOOD SOLO, ALTHOUGH A HERD OF AT LEAST 4 IS PREFERRED, AS SOME OTHER CARNIVORES CAN HUNT IN PACKS.
