In Real Life[]
Troodon is a dubious genus of small feathered birdlike dinosaurs that existed during the Cretaceous period 86.3 million years ago - 66 million years ago in North America that hunted small mammals, insects and baby or small dinosaurs. Around 2017, due to its dubious validity, scientists came to the conclusion that Troodon has probably never existed and the findings of its genus were redistributed onto the ones of Latenivenatrix and Stenonychosaurus.
In The Isle[]
Troodon are a species of small playable dinosaurs in The Isle Evrima.
Troodon are intended to be highly social pack animals that band together to take down prey that heavily outclass them in size, to facilitate this playstyle the troodon has access to the Venom Pounce, This ability deals damage and applies a stack of Venom.
Venom multiplies the damage done by any troodon to the envenomated target. When using scent the envenomated target will glow different colors depending on venom stacks.
After applying a stack of venom with a venom pounce, the troodon will chitter, this sound queue signals the cooldown of the venom and level of the envenomated target. If the target gets venom-pounced before the chitter is heard the venom stack will be lowered by one step.

- 1 stack 1.3x damage. shines blue
- 2 stacks 1.6x damage. shines purple
- 3 stacks 2x damage, shines purple
"At its heart they’re limbed, venomous snakes with mischievous and eerie mannerisms. Hyenas were a good reference, for their curious nature and death-by-1000-cuts style of hunting. Taking turns to bite at prey while other pack members cause distractions. Crows were the 2nd source of inspiration for their social nature, rambunctious curiosity and knack for antagonizing/irritating other predators (particularly with their habit of tail grabbing)."
