Hypsilophodon is a playable dinosaur in The Isle EVRIMA. Its a small, feathered herbivorous Archosaur with large feather tails and Antennae-like feathers on its head.
In Real Life[]
Hypsilophodon was a small herbivore that lived during the Early Cretaceous period in England. It was a relatively small dinosaur, though not as small as a Compsognathus. Hypsilophodon it is often stated as being 2.33 meters in length. However recent research has downsized Hypsilophodon to a maximum known length of 1.8 meters, typical specimens are about 1.5 meters long. Hypsilophodon would have reached up to half a meter in height. In 2010, Gregory S. Paul estimated weight of 20 kilograms (44 lb) for an animal two meters in length.
Like most small dinosaurs, Hypsilophodon was bipedal. Its entire body was built for running. Despite living in the last of the periods in which non-avian dinosaurs walked the earth, the Cretaceous, Hypsilophodon had a number of seemingly "primitive" features. For example, there were five digits on each hand and four on each foot. With Hypsilophodon the fifth finger had gained a specialized function: being opposable it could serve to grasp food items.
In The Isle[]
Hypsilophodon will be one of the few, if not the only dinosaur in the game with a blinding defence mechanism which it will be able to spit up "acidic bile" from the stomach which will blind the opponent for a few seconds but in return they sacrifice some food. Combined with the Hypsilophodon's speed and small size, this will allow for a quick getaway. The hypsilophodon's feathers aren't all for show, they serve a purpose of slowing down the dinosaur when falling which is useful in case it falls of a high ledge or giving it a longer time to react when jumping.
"The Hysilophodon is a small herbivorous ornithischian that's built for life in the jungle. As well as being one of the more beautiful dinosaurs on the island, it also sports impressive jumping capabilities and speeds to match. When that's not enough to keep safe, the Hypsi can shoot out a stream of its acidic stomach contents, temporarily blinding it's predators, allowing for an easy escape. Cover your eyes!"
