Note: This article applies to the Legacy Edition.[]
Broken Bone or Leg Break is a mechanic where the player's leg becomes broken either by falling from a height which doesn't kill you or an impact hit from other dinosaurs with a leg break attribute. Once a player has a broken bone their ability to alt turn and run is restricted until healed.
Dinosaurs with Leg Break attribute:
- Tyrannosaurus Rex
- Triceratops (Currently Removed)
- Pachycephalosaurus (Currently Removed)
- Maiasaura (Currently Removed)
- Ankylosaurus (Currently Removed)
- Shantungosaurus (Currently Removed)
Strategy: The Broken Bone mechanic can be used to your advantage as a T-Rex by inhibiting your prey's ability to run and alt turn, this allows you to easily flank and kill another apex with the T- Rex's top damage or to stop smaller prey from escaping.
As for herbivores, the Bone break attribute allows them to escape if desired, after breaking a predator's leg. If attempting to kill a larger carnivore, it allows a herd to immobilize the predator who can no longer escape and cannot alt turn.
Currently, Bone break causes 15 damage. This automatically starts to heal, but the best way to recover in a short amount of time is to sit down.
Logging out of a server will set the bone break number to 0. On your next heal cycle the leg will be healed.
Evrima Fracture System[]
Fractures and Bone break will be added along with the Pachycephalosaurus and the Perk System into the Isle on Update #4.
"Snap, crackle and pop! Fractures are going to be splintering their way into the game. Gone are the days of the so often infuriating bone-break mechanic of old that was in many ways, an automatic death sentence. Fractures have a range from mild to severe. Hindering your character accordingly. But also have more ways to be both applied and mitigated than you've ever experienced." - EVRIMA Public Roadmap Trello
